Since becoming a professional musician at the age of 16, Richard Emery has had the opportunity to play with some of the worlds best musicians.  The now NYC based guitarist, (by a way of Toronto, Chicago, and Columbus, Ohio) has had the opportunity to perform with Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Herlin Riley, Tony Monaco, Bobby Floyd, Aaron Diehl, Christian Howes, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, and many more.  Before moving to NYC, Richard was already playing around the city of Columbus, Ohio quite regularly as a guitarist and as a bassist with multiple groups and with the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra which was directed by Todd Stoll (Director of Education at Jazz at Lincoln Center). While in Ohio, Richard won the Hank Marr Award and theVirginia Commonwealth University High School Big Band Composition Competition with his first ever original big band composition.  Since moving to New York Richard has the opportunity to play all around the city with multiple groups on guitar and bass and continues to do so.  He has performed in theater productions such as the award winning It Aint Nothin but the Blues (Audelco Award for Musical Production of the Year 2011).
